Late night, post-drinking, run-through-a-downpour to hang out under a soggy tent at midnight snack- poutine from Potato Champion:

Mid-afternoon, after work, before errands, powering-up for the rest of the day snack- Lightly steamed asparagus with poached egg and a slice of whole grain toast:

My husband made me an epic pan of macaroni and cheese last night, and as soon as I wring the recipe out of him, I'll post it here.

I think I might have a poached egg now! Also, Excited about the macaroni cheese recipe!
How is the house?
Your second snack is one of my all time favorite snacks. Forever. With Lemon. Or Hollandaise.
i love mac & cheese. can't wait for another recipe for it!
Love, love, love poutine. I wish I could find it here in Japan. The poached egg and asparagus looks wonderful too. Can't wait to read the mac and cheese recipe.
That has got to be the best "snack" ever. mad envy.
The second snack looks like an entire meal!!! (YUM.) What do you eat AFTER the snack???!!
Lynn
Asparagus and eggs--very interesting combo. Why didn't I think of that?
the asparagus looks delish!! and don't even mention the mac-n-cheese, we want pictures and a recipe, of course.
that's a good lookin poached egg! i agree, the second snack is very close to one of my go-to meals. yumm.
Mmm, Dave's Killer Bread looks so good right now (I'm assuming that's what was pictured?).
olive- good eye, it's dave's killer bread :)
that asparagus looks so good, it's exactly what i'm craving right now.
those both look amazing.... nothing is better than eggs and toast. i really need to attempt poached eggs, but i'm usually too hungry to try new things with my eggs and risk disaster. :)
I had never heard of poutine. Had to wiki it. Sounds interesting, not sure if I would like it.
sarah- you're not sure if you'd like GRAVY on top of FRIED POTATOES?! that's like saying, "oh man- orgasms. didn't know what they were- had to wiki it. i don't know if i'd like it."
IT'S GRAVY ON POTATOES!!!!!! IT'S LIKE MOUTH ORGASM!
wait... poutine? actually called, poutine? in Oregon! WOW! As you probably know that is a very very Québécois meal :) I didn't think they sold that post-drinking-delicacy anywhere but in Québec! Again for you readers, poutine is french fries topped with curdled cheese and a big ol' splash of gravy. Add chicken, smoked meat, ham, peas, ground beef, what ever you want for an illusion of health ;)
:O you guys have poutines in america ? wow, that's cool ! good food ideas travel far ! :D
